ODDS & ENDS
The following items were created for work (freelance and brand) or personal design explorations. They are here because I like the finished product, but also because of what I learned working on each one of them.
Enjoy!
LOGO EXPLORATIONS

OTC MARKETS
Sr. Graphic Designer
Art Director
Previous versions of this report lacked any depth beyond the numbers and pull quotes. To infuse energy into the report I used vibrant images to keep readers attention as they plow through the content.
In order to bring more of the brand into the report I pulled the shape and colors from the small multi colored rectangle in the logo and used it to call out important statistical information and define sections.

OAKLAND YOUTH POET LAUREATE PROGRAM
(OYPLP) PRINT ANTHOLOGY
Sr. Graphic Designer
Art Director
The City of Oakland’s Youth Poet Laureate competition was created in collaboration with Oakland Public Library, Youth Speaks, Oakland School for the Arts and other partner institutions. This unique anthology showcases the best youth poets in Oakland, CA: finalists and winners of the program’s first three years. I was given the privilege of designing the book: cover art and interior layout.
At the time I was brought on to the project the OYPLP didn't have any branding, so I drew inspiration from Oakland, CA Tree logo shown here and the art-deco architecture of the Paramount and Fox Theatres.

COG - COGSWELL COLLEGE LITERARY JOURNAL
Sr. Graphic Designer
Art Director
COG was an online literary magazine curated by the students of Cogswell College. Cogswell is rated among the top 20 video game design schools by the Princeton Review.
Utilizing the design brief from the client and the institution’s color palette I created the logo, website, and annual print anthology. An interesting design note. For the 4 years that the journal ran, it became part of the brand to have each cover contain a "cog" in the artwork.

#PRIDE2019
Sr. Graphic Designer
Art Director
The following t-shirt was created for Twitter's Pride campaign of 2019. Over 600 t-shirts were created and distributed company-wide to celebrate pride and bring attention to 50 year anniversary Stonewall.
I designed the shirt utilizing the equality sign in combination with the pride flag. The two elements spoke to the two hashtag initiatives for the Pride Campaign, #SeeUsHearUs, and #Pride2019. From the three other design iterations created for Pride, this emoji and t-shirt are now part of Twitter’s evergreen for Gay Pride Month.

ESPORTS MARKETING COLLATERAL
Graphic Designer
Twitter held two exclusive events to promote Esports tournaments occurring at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York, and Oracle Arena, in Oakland, CA. The challenge in the creative brief was that the invitation and signage needed to feel like a video game, but no weapons or violent imagery could be used.
To achieve a stylized look, I used the map of each stadium to create a video game styled HUD. I also designed a one of a kind
#TwitterGaming Jersey, which was given to Esports team members, VITs and celebrity guests in attendance. I then translated that design into sweatshirts and t-shirts that were given away at #TwitterGaming events.
Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Ice-T in person, but I at least have the picture below.

BLACKKKLANSMAN Q&A
Graphic Designer
This design was created as a promotional give away for Spike Lee's Blackklansman Twitter Q&A hosted by #TwitterMovies.
I created the graphic to depict the movie premise but in a way that would not require an explanation. It is purposely simplistic due to the complicated and emotionally charged nature of the film.
My design was considered "too spicy" by the marketing department at the time, so they electected to go with just the name of the movie instead.
